We are seeking an Accounting Manager - Accounts Receivable to join a dynamic, fast-growing NYSE-listed company. In this role, you will lead the Cash team, overseeing cash centralization, applications, and query resolutions. Your leadership will ensure timely AR management, optimize working capital, and streamline processes. This high-visibility role is ideal for a strategic leader who excels in prioritizing, planning, and leading teams to success. The position is located in Bratislava, however, weekly visits to the Vienna office are required.

Main responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily AR operations, including developing and maintaining policies, procedures, and controls.
  • Streamline the collection process and cash application functions.
  • Track department performance, identify inefficiencies, and propose new procedures.
  • Manage monthly AR close, ensuring reconciliation of AR sub-ledger to GL, and preparing month-end schedules, reports, and metrics.
  • Review collection reports to monitor outstanding balances, reduce collection cycle times (DSO), and recommend write-offs when necessary.
  • Handle delinquent accounts and ensure maximum effort is made before designating bad-debt status.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to resolve outstanding AR claims and fees.
  • Manage information requests during year-end and internal audits.
  • Ensure staff are well-trained, prioritize workloads, and maintain compliance with SOX and internal policies.
  • Evaluate staff performance, provide feedback, and prepare annual reviews.
  • Assist staff with complex transactions and problem resolution.
  • Execute special projects and tasks as directed.

Required skills:

  • 5–10 years of AR experience in an international environment.
  • 4–6 years of leadership experience managing AR teams.
  • Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or equivalent.
  • Fluent English is required; additional languages are a plus.
  • Lean management or Six Sigma training is an advantage.
  • Strong understanding of general accounting principles.
  • Experience with SOX is a plus.
