
A global industrial company and energy management leader is looking for a Senior Operational Buyer to join its Budapest-based Business Service Center. The role is responsible for ensuring smooth material flow from suppliers to production and distribution, maintaining material availability, and supporting inventory accuracy in a manufacturing environment.
You will be part of a diverse, international team, working closely with suppliers and internal stakeholders to secure on-time deliveries, manage purchase orders, and support efficient, data-driven supply chain operations.
Main responsibilities:
- Ensure continuous material supply from suppliers to warehouses and production
- Manage purchase orders (confirmations, delays, changes, cancellations)
- Maintain daily communication with suppliers
- Monitor deliveries and ensure on-time supply performance
- Keep SAP purchasing and inventory data up to date
- Handle supply issues and material shortages, escalate when needed
- Communicate risks and changes to internal teams (planning, customer service, logistics)
- Support invoice, stock, and warehouse discrepancy resolution
- Track key KPIs (OTD, backlog, delays) and take corrective actions
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives
- Support and guide junior team members; act as right-hand to the team lead
Required skills:
- 5+ years of work experience in procurement / purchasing / buyer roles
- Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment is strongly preferred
- University degree
- Advanced English skills and confident use of German
- Continuous improvement mindset
