
We are looking for a proactive, cheerful, and versatile HR Generalist to serve as our sole Human Resources professional. You will be the "go-to person" for our team, managing everything from daily administration and payroll preparation to shaping our HR policies and supporting manager-led development. The ideal candidate thrives in an environment where processes need to be built from the ground up and can connect easily with people at all levels.
Main responsibilities:
- HR Administration & Operations: Manage the full employee lifecycle, including contract management, onboarding/offboarding, and maintaining accurate digital and physical personnel records.
- Payroll Coordination: Act as the primary liaison for our external payroll provider, ensuring all monthly data (attendance, leaves, bonuses) is submitted accurately and on time.
- Labor Law & Compliance: Proactively follow changes in Hungarian labor law to ensure all internal procedures, contracts, and handbooks remain fully compliant.
- Policy Design: Suggest, draft, and implement new HR policies and workflows (e.g., performance review cycles, remote work policies) that support our growth.
- People Development: Partner with managers to identify skill gaps and coordinate internal or external training and development initiatives.
- Employee Relations: Serve as the first point of contact for team members regarding any workplace issues, grievances, or personal concerns, fostering a positive and inclusive culture.
- Recruitment Support: Manage end-to-end recruitment as needed, from drafting job descriptions to conducting initial interviews.
Required skills:
- Experience: 3–5 years of proven HR Generalist experience, ideally in an SME or startup environment where you have designed and operated HR processes.
- Education: University or College degree, preferably in Human Resources, Psychology, or Business.
- Languages: Fluency in both English and Hungarian (written and verbal) is essential for this role.
- Communication: Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively and professionally with everyone from entry-level staff to senior leadership.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
- A nice, cheerful, and positive personality that contributes to a welcoming office atmosphere.
- A "hands-on" mindset and the ability to work independently as a solo HR professional.
- High level of discretion and integrity when handling confidential information.
