Main responsibilities:
- Ship Tracking Expertise: Monitor global vessel movements and cargo flows, turning raw data into actionable insights.
- Data-Driven Analysis: Identify patterns and predict vessel destinations, cargo types, and market behaviors to support strategic decisions.
- Market Insights: Gain a deep understanding of energy commodity markets, including supply-demand dynamics and key industry players.
- Impactful Reporting: Deliver accurate, timely reports that directly inform trading decisions and operational strategies.
- Process Improvement & Automation: Help evolve tools, streamline workflows, and implement innovative solutions for smarter ship tracking.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with trading, chartering, and operations teams to verify intelligence and maximize commercial impact.
Required skills:
- University degree in Technology, Economics, or Finance.
- Understanding of trading and shipping; oil trading experience is a plus.
- 2–3 years’ experience in trading, shipping, logistics, or marine transportation.
- Fluent English communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong analytical, mathematical, and pattern-recognition skills.
- Advanced Excel skills (formulas, indexing, pivots) and comfort working with data.
- Knowledge of Power BI, Python, or VBA is a bonus – or willingness to learn.
- Proactive communicator, able to flag issues, solve problems, and build effective networks.
