Our partner, a global technology leader in simulation and training solutions is looking for a Senior Accountant to join its Budapest office. This role offers a unique opportunity to take ownership of end-to-end accounting activities in a dynamic, multinational environment. You’ll work closely with regional finance teams while ensuring compliance with Hungarian accounting standards and IFRS.
Main responsibilities:
- Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and reporting
- Support full-scope accounting in accordance with Hungarian GAAP and IFRS
- Prepare and review account reconciliations (AP, AR, Fixed Assets, Intercompany, Balance Sheet)
- Ensure timely and accurate VAT filings and other local tax declarations
- Support management with regular and ad-hoc financial reports and analyses
- Coordinate with external accounting and audit partners, ensuring compliance with internal control policies and SOX requirements
- Maintain accurate financial records and ensure data integrity in Oracle and other financial systems

Required skills:
- Registered Chartered Accountant / Certified Public Accountant qualification
- Strong knowledge of Hungarian accounting standards (HAS) and familiarity with IFRS principles
- Minimum 2–4 years of relevant accounting experience, ideally within an international or multi-entity environment
- Excellent English communication skills (both written and spoken)
- Advanced MS Excel proficiency and good IT literacy; Oracle experience is an advantage
- Precise, detail-oriented, and proactive mindset with strong problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work independently
