We are looking for an experienced Network Monitoring Systems (NMS) Platform Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will take full technical ownership of a large and complex estate, ensuring our systems deliver reliable, high-quality services that meet both operational and contractual requirements.
Main responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee an estate of ~200 servers and 20 applications
- Ensure all systems deliver services in line with business and contractual needs.
- Lead and guide a remote team of system specialists.
- Anticipate business and client needs, investigate underlying issues, and develop both short- and long-term solutions.
- Drive innovation by recognising patterns and connections, and generating solutions to complex technical challenges.
- Present and explain highly complex concepts clearly, influencing and aligning stakeholders effectively.
- Prepare documentation including test procedures, test results, and reporting.
Required skills:
3–5 years’ experience as a systems engineer or tester in OSS system development, ideally in Service Assurance (service performance monitoring and reporting).
Solid experience in Service Quality Assurance, performance monitoring, and SLA reporting.
Hands-on experience with Unix and Windows systems.
Strong knowledge of the Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies.
Exposure to large IP networks, cloud-based, and hardware-based Linux environments.
Familiarity with OSS/infrastructure management tools (installation, configuration, usage, and development).
- Strong leadership skills with experience managing remote teams.
- Ability to anticipate issues and focus on continuous improvement.
- Innovative problem-solver with the ability to connect the dots and think beyond the immediate.
- Excellent communication and influencing skills; capable of explaining highly complex concepts in simple terms.
- Fluent in English (written and spoken).

- Enthusiastic to learn new skills outside core expertise.
Systems & Technologies
- Systems: SMARTS, Network Configuration Manager, SevOne (NPMD), Cisco ACS, FreeIPA, Network Node Manager, Splunk (experience with several is an advantage).
- Technologies: SNMP, Java, C, Jira, Bamboo, Oracle/MySQL databases, Apex, Angular, OBI, TcpDump, TcpReplay, Shell scripting, Linux.
