Our client is a well-established manufacturing company, recognized as a leader in urban engineering and mobility solutions. They are currently seeking a German-speaking GL Accountant to join their finance team and support the ongoing improvement of GL processes. The ideal candidate will have either solid experience in accounts payable and theoretical GL knowledge or at least 1 year of experience in the GL field. Main responsibilities:
- Manage Manual & Semi-automatic postings
- Reconcile reports
- Bank statement posting to GL accounts
- FX transaction and perform posting
- Decide on Accounting treatment for deferred items, perform postings
- Accrual and provision management
- Manage Profit & Loss
- General Ledger Closing
- Own and manage internal operational controls, Prepare documentation for auditor/tax authorities
- Manage Asset Accounting related activities such as asset master data maintenance, AA closing activities
- Identify, evaluate and resolve issues (incl. process improvements)
Required skills:
- University degree in Economics or Finance with major in accounting or equivalent qualification
- 1+ years of experience in accounting (primarily GL)
- Very good understanding of the GL processes
- Continuous Improvement and Quality mindset
- Strong customer orientation
- Very good English and German language skills (written and spoken)
- Ability/willingness to travel (2 to 6 weeks periods for knowledge transfer- when circumstances allow to do so)
- Strong team-player
