Main responsibilities:
As an application/data engineer supporting the Alternative Capital Partners IT unit, you will cooperate closely with other engineers on running and enhancing an IT application. The application is embedded into an environment serving business and integrates with other applications and platforms. The mid-/long term plan is to migrate the solution to the Palantir Foundry platform. This includes operating and providing monthly & quarterly required reports to business, batch process and data ingestion feeds monitoring. Additionally, this includes application (re-)design, implementation and optimization by leveraging and using test driven development principles. It requires communication with an international user community as well as a wide range of IT peers across the globe.
- Ensure processing of reporting deliverables, data feeds in due time according to closing cycles.
- Operational support, monitoring and issue handling within the team.
- Implement change requests, bug fixing and adequate test cases for system/application.
- Produce (and maintain) system & application documentation.
Required skills:
- Five or more years experience as a software engineer, application engineer or data engineer.
- High level of abstraction, fast understanding, conceptual thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with project management methodologies and tools (preferably AzureDevOps).
- Ability to prioritize tasks and drive objections to completion, ability to work independently as well as within a global team.

- Proficiency in english (written & verbal) communication.
- Very good knowledge of SQL, databases (like postgres, Oracle), stored procedures, UC4 and Windows Server incl. batch scripting.
- Work experience on python scripts, using web services (REST calls) and systems integration (e.g. file transfer).
- Work experience on application operations, monitoring and orchestration (UC4).
- Open to learn new technologies and languages (e.g. pyspark, Spark, foundry platform, azure cloud platform).
