 We are looking for an experienced HR professional to take ownership of the full HR agenda in our partner’s growing Hungarian operation. This stand-alone role in an expanding American company offers significant autonomy and visibility, combining strategic business partnering with hands-on operational responsibility in a fast-paced, international environment. 

Main responsibilities:

  • Partner with business leaders and Group HR to develop and execute HR strategies aligned with company objectives.
  • Take end-to-end ownership of the HR function in Hungary.
  • Manage HR activities across the employee lifecycle, including workforce planning, recruitment, onboarding, talent development, performance management, succession planning and offboarding.
  • Provide expert guidance to managers on employee relations, disciplinary procedures, conflict resolution and organizational matters.
  • Ensure compliance with Hungarian labor law, employment regulations and company policies.
  • Drive employee engagement, retention, wellbeing and culture initiatives.
  • Lead annual HR processes, including performance reviews, salary reviews, talent assessments and development planning.
  • Support organizational design, workforce planning and change management initiatives.
  • Partner with Finance and management on headcount planning, budgeting and people analytics.
  • Analyze HR metrics and prepare management reports to support business decisions.
  • Coordinate payroll processes, personnel administration and other operational HR activities, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.
  • Oversee office management activities on occasion, ensuring the smooth operation of the local office.
  • Manage relationships with external stakeholders, including labor authorities, legal advisors, payroll providers and other external HR service providers.
  • Contribute to regional and Group HR projects and harmonization initiatives.

Required skills:

  •  8+ years of progressive HR experience, including HR Manager or HRBP experience.
  •  Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in HR, Business, Psychology, Law or a related field. 
  •  Strong knowledge of Hungarian labor law and employee relations. 
  •  Experience with payroll, personnel administration and HR operations. 
  •  Strong stakeholder management, influencing and negotiation skills. 
  •  Strategic mindset combined with a hands-on, operational approach. 
  •  Strong organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills. 
  •  Excellent communication skills and attention to detail. 
  •  Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, changing environment. 
  •  Fluent Hungarian and English. 
  •  International/multinational experience preferred. 
  •  HR certification is an advantage.
