Our client is looking for an experienced Senior Project Director to lead complex, cross-functional transformation initiatives across the EMEA region.
This is a strategic and hands-on role for a senior professional who can shape solutions, challenge existing approaches and take full ownership from problem definition through implementation and measurable business outcomes.

Main responsibilities:

  • Lead complex, strategic and cross-functional transformation projects across EMEA
  •  Take end-to-end ownership from problem definition and solution design through implementation and benefits realisation
  •  Connect strategic objectives with practical execution and ensure sustainable business outcomes
  •  Work closely with senior business and functional leaders across countries and reporting lines
  •  Challenge assumptions, priorities and existing approaches and drive effective decision-making
  •  Manage risks, dependencies, budgets and competing priorities
  •  Ensure stakeholder alignment and successful implementation of transformation initiatives
  •  Contribute to the development and maturity of the overall project portfolio and PMO
  •  Initially operate as a senior individual contributor; over time coordinate a small international team across Europe
This is not a traditional PMO role: the successful candidate will be expected not only to identify and report issues, but to understand the underlying problems, shape solutions, challenge stakeholders and actively drive resolution.

Required skills:

  • 10+ years of experience in complex project, programme or transformation leadership
  •  Proven track record of leading large-scale, cross-functional initiatives
  •  Strong end-to-end project ownership and execution experience
  •  Experience working across multiple functions such as Finance, IT, Operations, Commercial, Customer, HR or other corporate areas
  •  Experience in a large international and matrix organisation
  •  Strong strategic thinking combined with hands-on execution skills
  •  Excellent senior stakeholder management and influencing skills
  •  Confidence to challenge senior stakeholders and make decisions in complex or ambiguous situations
  •  Strong experience in governance, portfolio management, risk, budget and dependency management
  •  International experience across countries and cultures; EMEA experience is an advantage, while strong CEE experience within an international organisation is also relevant
  •  Consulting experience is welcome, provided it is complemented by significant in-house transformation and implementation ownership
  •  Previous IT, fintech or financial services experience is an advantage, but not a prerequisite
  •  Fluent English

  •  Opportunity to develop into a broader EMEA transformation and portfolio leadership role
  •  Future coordination of an international team across the UK and Italy
  •  Competitive compensation package of approximately €100,000–110,000 gross annual base salary, depending on experience
