Our client is operating in the renewable energy sector. Due to their dynamic growth, we are seeking a Senior Grid Connection / HV & MV Electrical Engineer to manage and supervise the technical,
administrative and coordination aspects of grid connection works for large scale PV and BESS projects in Hungary.


Main responsibilities:

  • Manage and coordinate grid connection processes for utility-scale Solar PV and BESS projects in Hungary
  • Liaise with TSOs, DSOs, grid operators, authorities, and other external stakeholders throughout the grid connection and energization process
  • Coordinate permitting, approvals, technical documentation, and regulatory compliance related to grid connection activities
  • Oversee the construction and commissioning of HV/MV substations, power lines, and grid connection infrastructure
  • Manage and coordinate EPC contractors, designers, consultants, and subcontractors during project execution
  • Review electrical designs, technical documentation, and grid connection plans to ensure compliance with technical and regulatory requirements
  • Support energization, testing, commissioning, acceptance, and operational handover activities
  • Monitor the operation and maintenance of HV/MV electrical infrastructure for operational renewable energy assets
  • Provide technical support to project development, construction, asset management, and investment teams
  • Prepare technical reports, risk assessments, progress updates, and recommendations for management

Required skills:

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, Energy Engineering, or a related technical field
  • Proven experience with HV/MV electrical systems, substations, and grid connection infrastructure
  • Experience in renewable energy projects, preferably utility-scale Solar PV, BESS, wind, or other power generation projects
  • Strong understanding of electrical designs, single-line diagrams, technical specifications, and construction documentation
  • Experience in construction supervision, commissioning, energization, operational handover, or O&M of electrical infrastructure
  • Ability to manage and coordinate contractors, consultants, grid operators, and other project stakeholders
  • Strong communication, reporting, and project coordination skills
  • Fluent Hungarian and professional working proficiency in English

Advantages:

  • Knowledge of Hungarian grid connection, permitting, commissioning, and operational procedures
  • Experience with HV/MV infrastructure such as substations, transmission lines, transformers, protection systems, SCADA, and metering systems
  • Experience in investor-side project management, Owner’s Engineering, Asset Management, or O&M supervision
  • Familiarity with grid compliance, protection coordination, and utility-related technical requirements
