
Exciting role for a Packaging Engineer (EU Compliance)!. You’ll take the lead on packaging projects, make sure regulations are met, and help deliver sustainable, practical solutions that improve both products and processes.
Main responsibilities:
- Lead packaging design, optimization, and improvement initiatives to ensure cost-effective, high-quality, and sustainable solutions
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and suppliers to reduce product/packaging damage and implement best practices
- Provide technical support, analyze packaging performance, and lead projects addressing non-conformances
- Ensure compliance with EU packaging regulations, waste directives, and sustainability initiatives
- Maintain packaging knowledge, specifications, and databases, and support internal training to build capability
Required skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Packaging, Chemical, Technical, or Quality Management discipline (or equivalent). Packaging expertise preferred
- 3-5 years’ experience in packaging technology and practices, ideally in chemical, automotive, medical/pharma, or food industries
- Experience in project management, packaging optimization, and supplier collaboration
- Knowledge of EU packaging regulations and compliance requirements
- Familiarity with quality systems/tools (SPC, RCA, FMEA)
- Results-oriented, self-motivated, able to work independently, and a strong team player
- Fluent English skills; German or Italian a plus
