
Our client is a reputable manufacturing company, recognized as a leader in urban engineering and mobility solutions. Be part of shaping a new Shared Service Center and take our AP operations to the next level as a Senior AP Accountant – a role that requires fluent French and English language skills.
Main responsibilities:
- Be involved in the transition of accounting processes from European entities to Hungary and actively shape a new SSC in Budapest
- Prepare, validate and regularly update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Desktop Procedures
- Be involved in day-to-day AP operations like document receipt, invoice verification and processing, outgoing payment processing, reclaims & corrections, AP closing and other periodical activities
- Ensure the quality of AP invoice processing
- Determine, evaluate and resolve issues; identify and drive process improvements
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to build strong professional relationships
- Be an ambassador of our organization towards suppliers; provide high-quality customer service
- Ensure all process manuals/work instructions are created and kept up to date
- Coach and train junior team members, including onboarding support
- Support Senior and Team Lead colleagues in cross-functional collaboration
Required skills:
- College or University degree (preferably in Economics/Finance with a major in Accounting, or equivalent)
- Minimum 3–4 years’ experience in accounting (primarily AP in an SSC environment)
- Very good understanding of AP processes
- Continuous Improvement & Quality (CI&Q)mindset and strong customer orientation
- Strong English and French language skills (Hungarian is an advantage)
- Very good knowledge of SAP FI or another ERP system
- Enthusiasm for establishing and ramping up a new Shared Service Center
- Ability/willingness to travel for knowledge transfer (2–6 weeks when applicable)
- Self-starter, able to work independently; strong team player
- Excellent communication skills; ability to pay close attention to detail and prioritize the right tasks at the right time
- SME, end-to-end approach: root-cause identification & analysis, creating/owning action plans, driving process improvement, and openness to give/receive feedback
