
Our client is a reputable manufacturing company, acknowledged as a leader in urban engineering and mobility solutions. They are looking for a German-speaking GL Accountant to join their finance team on a fixed-term, two-year contract. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of one year’s experience in GL accounting within an SSC environment and demonstrate a proactive mindset toward process improvement. Fluency in both English and German is essential for this position.
Main responsibilities:
- Perform manual and semi-automated postings
- Calculate inventory adjustments, reconcile reports, and calculate provisions
- Balance sheet responsibilities, including banking-related tasks
- Post bank statements to GL accounts
- Handle FX transactions and post them accordingly
- Determine accounting treatment for deferred items and execute postings
- Manage accruals and provisions
- Handle Profit & Loss accounting
- Perform General Ledger period-end closing activities
- Own and manage internal operational controls; prepare documentation for audits and tax authorities
- Support Asset Accounting processes
Required skills:
- University degree in Economics, Finance, or a related field, ideally with a focus on Accounting, or equivalent qualification
- At least 1 year of experience in GL accounting (ideally within a Shared Service Center environment)
- Strong understanding of GL processes
- Quality and continuous improvement mindset
- Strong customer orientation
- Upper-intermediate/fluent in German and English, both written and spoken
- Very good knowledge of SAP FI
