An international company is looking for experienced accountants with fluent German knowledge to oversee accounting and reporting operations across multiple regions. Apply to take your career to the next level.

Main responsibilities:

  • Oversee the efficient and precise monthly accounting process, ensuring adherence to company policies, closing schedules, and guidelines.
  • Guarantee timely and accurate completion of statutory and tax filings for various smaller entities within the region, including annual returns, direct tax returns, and other relevant reports.
  • Plan and execute statutory audits, acting as the primary contact point for external auditors and accounting service providers for smaller entities, while collaborating with the Manager on larger entities in the region. Address any inquiries raised by auditors or service providers.
  • Maintain reconciliations between local GAAP and US GAAP, ensuring comprehensive documentation regarding any timing and/or permanent differences.
  • Utilize in-depth expertise in financial principles to ensure proper regulatory reporting, documenting conclusions through memos or other appropriate means.
  • Proactively suggest and implement solutions to optimize financial processes.
  • Assist with corporate income tax audits as they arise across the region.
  • Build and sustain strong working relationships with business partners and other finance teams, maintaining a collaborative and proactive approach.
  • Support finance teams in comprehending their systems, processes, and potential business gaps.


Required skills:

  • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in economics, business administration, or a related field.
  • At least 5-7 years of accounting experience within an international corporation, Big 4 accounting firm, or an international accounting firm
  • A solid accounting or control background, with a thorough understanding of US GAAP or IFRS,  and one or more statutory GAAP in the EMEA region.
  • A proven history of identifying and resolving issues effectively with a focus on process improvement, demonstrating a Lean or Six Sigma mindset.
  • Familiarity with financial software tools such as SAP, Power-BI, Blackline, OneSource, or similar.
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English and German.
  • A collaborative team player, willing to offer assistance to colleagues during peak periods.
  • Strong time management abilities.
  • Excellent analytical skills, approaching challenges with a risk-based mindset.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across various departments and levels within the organization.
